A white footed bowl heaped with lemons, leaves still on the branches, with two halves cut open to show their segments and one lemon resting on the table below. Scraps of French newspaper run along the base, and behind it all is a bright, clear blue. This is the painting selected for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition in London.
Painted on panel in gesso and dry pure pigments, with the newsprint collaged in and a wash of beeswax over the surface. A contemporary still life painting, one original that exists nowhere else.
