A galvanised watering can marked one gallon sits on a weathered garden table, beside a square glass jar holding twigs of green berries and a small footed bowl where a pair of black scissors rests among scattered berries. Old travel cuttings are collaged across the planks - Florence, Rome and a tin of Blédine - and a blackbird has hopped in at the edge to see what is going on. The feeling is of a garden table in early summer, gathered, active and quietly busy.
Painted on panel in layers of gesso and dry pure pigments, with the travel cuttings collaged beneath the surface and beeswax worked over the top. One of the larger pieces, a contemporary still life framed by Astrid in a simple hand‑painted frame and ready to hang.
