A wooden pepper mill, a white jug with a single blue band, a tin of sea salt with its little sailing boat, and two silver fish laid on a plate. A slotted spoon rests across the table, all of it set against a deep blue ground so the small things of a kitchen can be slowly looked at.
Painted on panel in thin layers of gesso and dry pure pigments, with antique French newsprint collaged underneath and a final wash of beeswax over everything. A contemporary still life painting, one original that exists nowhere else.
