The Sugar Bowl | 20cm x 20cm

£695.00
sold out

A white sugar bowl with curled handles, filled with three large pinecones and a few sprigs of pine. A silver spoon with a shell-shaped bowl lies on the bare wood in front, and behind it the background shifts from deep blue to warm timber. The bowl doesn’t contain the sugar you might expect to see, but the gathered treasures from an autumn walk, brought indoors and set down to look at.

Painted on panel, built up first in gesso and then dry pure pigments, with beeswax brushed over at the end. A contemporary still life painting, framed by Astrid in a simple hand-painted frame and ready to hang.

• 20cm x 20cm
• Gesso, dry pure pigments and beeswax on panel
• Framed
